About This Course

The KEYSS Project, in collaboration with the Global Impact Initiative, has developed this course called Unlock your skills: Workforce Readiness Program for NGOs which is targeted for individuals interested in the working in the 3rd Sector.

This program was developed to provide students and young adults with preparatory materials for entering the professional environment. At the end of this course, we hope that you have a better understanding of how to be prepared to enter the workforce. This program is being offered to individuals across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. You will have several opportunities to interact with others.

Course Learning Objectives

  • Recognize how their skills, personality, and interests can be matched with potential career opportunities, and be able to start the process of building their resume accordingly.
  • Describe the current trends regarding Corporate Social Responsibility and the purpose of these departments and describe conflict and the means of addressing it through conflict resolution
  • Describe conflict in the workplace and the means of addressing it through conflict resolution.
  • Define and describe diversity, in terms of culture, gender, nationality, religion and other applicable areas
  • Describe the methods and means of communication (verbal, nonverbal, etc.) and describe the differences in audiences and how those differences impact the styles of communication employed

Shawn Smith, MBA, CSM, ICP-ACC, SHRM-SCP

Shawn has obtained bachelors’ degrees in criminal justice and psychology, attended a Master’s in Public Administration program, and, most recently, graduated with a Master’s in Business Administration from LSUS. He brings over a decade of experience working with not-for-profit organizations and various branches of government. Shawn is Vice President of GII.

Sarah Mohammad Ghaleb, Ed.D

Dr. Sarah has been leading training, social science research/evaluation, and entrepreneurship development for over 10 years. She has a list of professional accomplishments that reflect her commitment to the design, development, and evaluation of social programming; particularly as it relates to sustainable innovation and entrepreneurship. She co-founded Naqa’a Sustainability Solutions, one of the first social enterprises in the Kingdom, to address the pressing social and environmental needs in Saudi Arabia.

Alongside this role, she became the SGM of Education and Entrepreneurship Initiatives at Community Jameel-the CSR arm of the Abdul Latif Jameel Group. There she continued her entrepreneurship-related work through supporting a variety of programs including Bab Rizq Jameel and leading the MIT Enterprise Forum Saudi Chapter.

She is currently the Head of Entrepreneurship & Innovation Ecosystem at Aramco’s Wa’ed and will continue to support Saudi entrepreneurs in this role. Dr. Sarah holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English-Technical Writing and Editing from George Mason University, a Master in Education Leadership also from George Mason University, and a doctorate in Higher Education Administration from The George Washington University.
